About Me

Brad Carney, LCSW, MSW

Psychotherapist | Owner

I pride myself in being a fun and down-to-earth therapist and developing a genuine professional relationship. I believe powerful change can happen in the context of a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. My approach is rooted in empathy, creating a warm and understanding environment. Yet, I believe in the power of gentle challenge, pushing you to explore new perspectives and harness your inner strength. Together, we'll navigate your path towards healing, growth, and the fulfillment you seek.

I have a strong understanding with the LGBTQIA+ community and specialize with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity/self-exploration. I work a lot with men who are experiencing mental health difficulties as well as relational issues or have mental health challenges. I see youth ages 16+, young adults, adults, and queer couples.

I believe that everyone should have opportunities to become the finest version of themselves, but transformation is never a simple process. Healing is hard! With trust, some humor, and vulnerability we can surely improve the quality of your life. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you feel like we would be a good fit! I look forward to hearing from you.

Who I am:

I love when my clients get to know me, as I believe building trust and rapport is an essential part of the therapeutic process. I’m originally from Colorado, but I’ve also lived in Utah, Virginia, and spent time in South America, which has given me a diverse perspective on life and culture. In my free time, I enjoy playing volleyball, hiking, and going on adventures with my dog, Walter. I’m a proud Swiftie, so don’t be surprised if I mention a Taylor Swift lyric now and then! I also have a serious love for sushi and Sour Patch Kids. Please feel free to ask me anything as we get to know each other better—it’s all part of creating a comfortable, authentic connection.

Who I often work with:

I work with a diverse range of clients, including:

  • Individuals experiencing setbacks or challenges related to past or present trauma, helping them navigate unresolved pain and find healing.

  • Those who feel disconnected from their emotions, have lost parts of themselves, or are experiencing emotional numbness, supporting them in rediscovering a sense of wholeness and self-expression.

  • Individuals struggling with anxiety, low motivation, or a lack of desire to engage in activities, providing tools to manage these feelings and improve daily functioning.

  • Members of the LGBTQIA+ community, including individuals exploring their identity, and couples facing unique relationship challenges.

  • People dealing with relational conflicts or mental health concerns, offering guidance on communication, connection, and emotional well-being.

I work with youth ages 16 and older, young adults, adults, and LGBTQIA+ couples to foster personal growth, emotional balance, and meaningful relationships.
