FAQs
Who Do You Work With?
I specialize in working with individuals navigating a range of emotional and relational challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma (both past and present), religious trauma, and various life transitions. My approach is particularly effective for those experiencing significant life stressors, as I often utilize emotion-focused methods and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients connect with their inner selves, bodily sensations, and emotions on a profound and intimate level.
I have a strong understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community, working closely with individuals and couples within this population. As an openly gay man, I bring personal insights and a compassionate approach to therapy, creating a safe and affirming space for exploration and growth.
I work with youth ages 16 and older, young adults, adults, and queer couples (limited availability).
Do You See People Online and In-Person?
Absolutely! I offer both in-person and online therapy options to accommodate your preferences. My in-person office is located at:
7200 E Dry Creek Rd C-203
Centennial, Colorado 80112
What Happens During the First Session?
During our initial session, we will primarily focus on building rapport and establishing a genuine therapeutic relationship. I believe that developing trust is crucial for a productive therapeutic process. I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where you can freely explore the difficulties you’re facing.
I recognize that everyone has different comfort levels; some clients prefer to dive into their issues immediately, while others may need time to ease into the process. My approach is adaptable, meeting you where you are and allowing you to set the pace.
Session Fees
Individual Session: $140 for 55 minutes
Couples Session: $200 for 55 minutes
LCSW Clinical Supervision: $100 for 60 minutes of clinical supervision
I also offer sliding scale options for those facing financial constraints:
$100
$80
$60
$40
I believe in making therapy accessible and understand that financial barriers can be challenging. I’ve experienced this firsthand, which is why I provide these sliding scale spots. Please reach out to discuss availability for sliding scale sessions or if you need flexibility with costs.
Insurances
Through my partnership with Headway, I can accept clients with specific insurances, including UnitedHealthcare, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Oxford, and Oscar Health.
When working through Headway, please note that I can only see clients in-person at my own office or via Telehealth, whichever you prefer.
Accepted Payment Methods
I accept various payment methods, including:
Cash
Check
HSA accounts
Debit/Credit Cards
While I do not currently accept insurance directly, I’m happy to provide “superbills” for reimbursement. Most insurance plans cover 50% to 90% of fees with out-of-network providers. It’s advisable to check your provider for specific coverage details. Many clients also utilize health savings accounts or flexible spending accounts, which do not require a diagnosis or limit services.
Payment System
Payments for private pay clients are processed electronically through the Ivy Pay system, which is designed specifically for therapists, ensuring secure and HIPAA-compliant credit/debit card storage. During our first session, I will set up your secure payment method, and I will charge that card after each session. For clients using insurance, payments will be processed through a different platform.
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
I kindly request that clients provide at least a 24-hour notice for cancellations. If a session is canceled without this notice, a cancellation fee equivalent to the full session fee will apply, as it can be challenging to fill a slot with short notice.
